Challenge
The parapet coping was covered in moss and dirt, and the brick joints beneath it had eroded and blackened, the usual route for water to track into the head of the wall. Scaffolding the roof edge was not proportionate for the scope.
Eroded joints beneath a parapet coping raked out and repointed on rope, with the coping cleaned back and coated, inside a single working day.
Project context
Building described without naming the client. Maintenance-grade repointing to stop water ingress, not heritage conservation. Where lime work or stone repair is needed we provide the access and bring in a specialist mason.

The parapet coping was covered in moss and dirt, and the brick joints beneath it had eroded and blackened, the usual route for water to track into the head of the wall. Scaffolding the roof edge was not proportionate for the scope.
We worked on rope from roof level, with rope protection over the coping to reach the outer face safely above an internal courtyard. We cleaned down the coping, raked out the failed joints and repointed them to maintenance grade, then applied a pale protective coating to the coping.
Clean, uniform joints and a coping cleaned back and coated, completed within the same working day and with water ingress at the wall head addressed.
