Cradle Access

BMU Cradle Access

Work at high level taken from the building's own roof-mounted BMU cradle, with nothing set up on the pavement below.

Project context

Building described without naming the client. One team, several access methods: cradle, rope, tower or cherry picker, chosen per elevation.

Challenge

A modern building with a light-coloured facade needed work at high level on an elevation served by the building's own roof-mounted BMU. Bringing in scaffold would have added cost and taken up space at street level.

What was carried out

We used the equipment already installed. Our technician worked from the cradle suspended on the davit arm, manoeuvring out over the roof edge to reach the face.

Outcome

Access was taken from the roof line, so nothing had to be set up on the pavement below.
